Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are looking for an experienced IIoT DevOps Engineer to help design, build, and operate a next-generation global IoT platform that connects industrial and smart device ecosystems at scale. You will join a highly international engineering environment, contributing to a platform that enables secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity across complex distributed systems. The work is deeply rooted in cloud-native engineering, platform scalability, and long-term operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Take technical ownership of the architecture, development, and operation of a scalable Industrial IoT platform running on Azure
  • Define and evolve platform engineering standards based on Kubernetes and cloud-native best practices
  • Build and maintain Kubernetes-based infrastructure and deployment environments
  • Design and operate CI/CD and GitOps pipelines for automated, reliable delivery workflows
  • Develop backend and platform services using Java and Python
  • Design and implement event-driven and streaming-based architectures (Kafka, MQTT, etc.)
  • Ensure platform reliability through observability, monitoring, security, and high availability design
  • Integrate industrial and connected device systems into a global IoT ecosystem
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, security, and cross-functional engineering teams

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure or similar hyperscaler environments
  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes and containerized workloads (Helm, FluxCD, Linux)
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD, GitOps, and infrastructure automation practices
  • Strong programming skills in Java and Python, including clean code and test-driven development
  • Experience with event-driven systems and messaging technologies (Kafka, MQTT, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of platform security, observability, and distributed systems design
  • Experience working in complex, cross-domain environments (IT / OT integration is a plus)
  • Strong communication skills in English
