DevOps Engineer – Data Warehouse & Oracle@Azure

We are accelerating the transition of our data platform to the cloud and scaling our delivery capacity to run multiple workstreams in parallel. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the team responsible for migrating our Data Warehouse and implementing Oracle databases on Oracle Database@Azure. Your focus will be on building a reliable, automated data infrastructure that enables high-performance analytics workloads in the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Support the migration of the Data Warehouse to the cloud and provision Oracle databases on Oracle Database@Azure (Exadata / Base Database)
• Design and automate secure connectivity between Azure and Oracle (OCI) environments for low-latency data access
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestrate data loads with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD
• Automate database provisioning, patching, backup (RMAN), and high-availability/disaster-recovery (Data Guard) processes
• Set up replication and change-data-capture (GoldenGate) where required to keep source and target in sync during migration
• Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot database and data-warehouse performance; conduct capacity planning for growing data volumes
• Collaborate closely with data engineering, DBA, and client support teams to resolve complex production issues

Requirements

• Solid experience with Linux administration, GIT, and networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, private connectivity)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure; familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and the Oracle Database@Azure service is a strong plus
• Experience operating Oracle Database – RMAN backup/recovery, Data Guard, and ideally Exadata and Oracle RAC
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL; understanding of data warehouse concepts (dimensional modeling, partitioning, performance)
• Experience with ETL/ELT and data pipelines – Azure Data Factory, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), or comparable tooling
• Familiarity with data replication / CDC such as Oracle GoldenGate
• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitLab, or similar
• Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform (Azure and OCI providers)
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or Perl
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging (Azure Monitor, OCI Monitoring, Oracle Enterprise Manager)
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and a proactive, independent, detail-oriented work style
• Fluent in Czech or Slovak; good command of English for technical documentation and communication
