About the Position
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Payment and Settlement Services (PSS) team at ING Hubs Romania. This role focuses on the development and extension of our existing payment engine, APIs, and microservices. You will be working predominantly with Java, Spring frameworks, and deployed via Azure DevOps pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Full Stack Management: Take ownership of the full stack across Development, Test, Acceptance, and Production environments. Automate tasks such as Regression Testing (Functional, Performance, Security), Deployments, and Operations (Data Center failover, Backups/Restore, Security Monitoring, full stack monitoring).
- Lifecycle Management: Manage the lifecycle of all components (O.S., Middleware, Database) and ensure security measures are in place.
- Agile/Scrum Practices: Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, prioritizing tasks from the backlog, and demoing features to the Capability Squads.
- Monitoring and Automation: Improve application monitoring using tools like Grafana and Prometheus. Automate testing, performance, security, deployments, and more.
- Technical Specifications: Assist with technical specifications for change requests and user stories. Analyze requirements and define their applicability within the technical environment.
- Continuous Deployment: Implement continuous deployment and delivery using Azure DevOps.
- IT Risk & Security: Ensure IT Risk & security controls are in place and accurately documented, complying with ING Information Security Management Policy.
Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience in a DevOps role.
- Tools and Technologies:
- Automation Tools: Hands-on experience with at least one automation tool (Ansible, Chef, Salt, Terraform, etc).
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with Azure DevOps or Google Cloud.
- Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar tools.
- Operating Systems: Highly knowledgeable on Red Hat operating systems and networking. Solid experience in clustered environments, managing servers, and troubleshooting.
- CI/CD Tooling: Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Sonar, Checkmarx.
- Virtualization/Containerization: Experience with at least one virtualization and/or containerization technology (VMWare, Openstack, Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift).
- Scripting: Ability to automate release processes and operations using Python, Shell, Ansible.
- Skills:
- Passion for technology and continuous improvement.

- Ability to organize and motivate others.
- Very good soft skills (communicative, friendly, curious, etc).
- General knowledge about REST APIs.
Nice to Have
- Basic knowledge about the Springboot framework.
- Low latency infrastructural stack knowledge.
- Security and IT Risk (SOX, vulnerability management).
- Oracle databases.
- Language: English (advanced).
