About the Position
Checkmarx is the leader in application security and ensures that enterprises worldwide can secure their application development from code to cloud. We are seeking a passionate DevOps Team Lead to lead a team of engineers in supporting feature development and maintaining our cloud-native application deployment in AWS/Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Managed and grew a team of DevOps engineers
- Partner closely with development teams to support feature development and provide DevOps expertise
- Provide platform guidance and enablement across the organization
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency of the DevOps team
- Provide technical leadership to the DevOps team, including mentoring and coaching
- Work closely with the engineering teams to define infrastructure needs and provide them with DevOps support and training
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python and other scripting languages
- Research and integrate new technologies into our stack
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Manage, monitor, scale, and troubleshoot a distributed highly scalable, highly available, customer-facing software stack
- Mentor and coach others in the cloud and DevOps tools and practices
Requirements
Required qualifications:
- Experience with managing, mentoring, and developing a team
- 10+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or similar roles
- Strong coding and scripting skills
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience of AWS Cloud services
- Experience in infrastructure troubleshooting practices using observability tools
- Competent experience with building automation tools such as IaC, Jenkins, CircleCI, jFrog, Terraform, and similar
- Vast experience with Kubernetes deployments, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player, innovative and creative, able to see the "big picture" and take part in shaping the product
Desired qualifications:
- Experience developing internal tools and automation solutions
- Familiarity with additional programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Bash)
- Experience with cost optimization and budgeting in cloud infrastructure
- Strong verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to participate in technical discussions confidently and effectively
- Experience with GitOps practices and tools such as ArgoCD
