Tech Stack
Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements
About the Position
At SPD Technology, we bring together a team of like-minded people who are driven by the desire to bring value through their work, united in their commitment to high performance and delivering custom, cutting-edge tech solutions that drive clients’ growth. We empower our people with a culture of excellence and enable them with the opportunity to uphold their accountability to contribute on each level. We value humanity and collaboration, encourage professional and personal growth, and foster a supportive and flexible work environment where everyone’s contribution is welcomed.
We are looking for a DevOps/Platform Engineering Lead to join us as part of our team.
About the Role
Dawn is building Data Access Intelligence – a new security layer that detects illegitimate data access. We help enterprises identify credential theft, insider risk, and Shadow AI before they become breaches. We’re an early-stage startup with offices in New York and Tel Aviv, governing how both humans and non-human identities access sensitive data.
We’re looking for a hands-on DevOps/Platform Engineering Lead to own the entire infrastructure lifecycle of our GCP-based multi-tenant SaaS platform. You’ll be the first infrastructure hire, responsible for building the foundation from scratch and eventually growing the team. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role where you’ll make foundational decisions that shape the platform for years.
Responsibilities
- GCP Foundation & Networking: Configure organization structure, IAM policies, VPC architecture, and firewall rules
- Kubernetes & Container Orchestration: Manage GKE clusters with Workload Identity, implement KEDA queue-based autoscaling, design RBAC and namespace isolation, configure deployment health checks and Artifact Registry
- Database Infrastructure: Provision Cloud SQL with HA and backups, configure BigQuery for analytics, deploy Memorystore Redis
- Message Queue Architecture: Design Pub/Sub topics with priority queues, configure ordering keys and dead letter queues
- CI/CD Pipeline: Set up Terraform state management, Cloud Build triggers, and blue-green deployments
- Security & Compliance: Implement Secret Manager, Cloud KMS, Cloud Armor, and multi-tenant isolation
- Monitoring & Observability: Build dashboards, configure distributed tracing, design alerting hierarchy
- Disaster Recovery & Operations: Configure cross-region DR, automate failover, create incident runbooks
- Cost Management: Set up billing exports, budget alerts, and per-tenant cost tracking
Requirements
- 7+ years DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior/lead capacity
- Strong GCP experience (GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Memorystore)
- Proficiency with Terraform (modules, state management, workspaces)
- Production Kubernetes experience with Docker, KEDA, Helm
- CI/CD pipeline design (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Artifact Registry)
- PostgreSQL administration (HA, backups, performance tuning)
- Networking (VPCs, firewalls, load balancers, DNS)
- Monitoring and observability (Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Security best practices (Cloud Armor, Secret Manager, Cloud KMS, IAM)
Nice to Have
- GCP Professional certifications (Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer)
- KEDA or queue-based autoscaling experience
- Multi-tenant SaaS architecture experience
- Compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR)
- BigQuery and data pipeline experience
- Python/Bash scripting
