About the Position
We work with organizations that play a crucial role in making our societies better for all of us. They’ve been at the forefront of policy campaigning to improve school food, to better conserve the ocean, and to protect children in war.
Their websites are often the first thing funders and policymakers will check to see how legitimate or credible an organization is. Nothing kills credibility faster than a website that loads slowly, categorizes content in a way that no-one outside the organization understands, or a site where the design is just… bad.
The challenge is that too many policy websites prioritize internal audiences over external. Rather than thinking “what does policymaker X need to see?”, the question is “what do senior management want to see on the website?” This leads to websites that are an output in themselves, rather than websites that lead to outcomes.
We’re looking for someone to lead the digital function at Cast from Clay. Your job is to ensure that all our digital workstreams do not do this; that they prioritize outcomes (hard to do), over simple outputs (anyone can do).
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on how to align their digital presence with their organizational goals.
- Lead the digital function, ensuring it prioritizes outcomes over outputs.
- Manage a team of developers to ensure the final product delivers on the strategic vision.
- Take over advising our largest digital clients and be responsible for supporting them in their mission.
- Be the new business lead for any strategy projects that require digital infrastructure.
- Own the digital roadmap for client content-led platforms, ensuring that the content drives audience growth.
Requirements
- Digital Strategy: Experience in setting digital/design KPIs and managing a team to meet those targets.
- Leadership: Clear leadership of a digital function in a consultancy, a nonprofit, or another relevant organization.
- Team Management: Experience managing a team and an understanding of how to get the best out of different types of people in that team.
- Consultative Approach: Ability to identify problems, solutions, and opportunities, and convince others of your point of view.
- Commercial and Revenue Management: Experience in commercial and revenue management.
- Policy Landscape: An understanding of the policy landscape and know-how to use digital platforms to move the needle with policymakers, media, and other stakeholders.
We Offer
- Competitive Salary: c. £55,000 dependent on experience.
- Office: Work from our offices in Vauxhall on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

- Bonuses: 5% new business bonus, and a company-wide bonus if annual profit targets are hit.
