You will operate at the intersection of strategy, sales, and delivery, collaborating with clients to design transformations while developing and supporting high-performing teams. From crafting go-to-market strategies to overseeing the delivery of complex programs, your impact will be both commercial and technical. You combine strategic leadership with a hands-on approach-stepping directly into key projects when necessary to define solutions, support teams, and maintain the excellence of delivery.

As the Director of Practice, you will be responsible for the growth, positioning, and delivery excellence of our Shopify practice.

You will be required to:

  • Define and evolve our Shopify strategy, offerings, and differentiators
  • Drive revenue growth through new business development and existing account expansion
  • Act as a strategic advisor at the executive level to clients, aligning commerce solutions with their business objectives
  • Oversee solution architecture and delivery quality across all mandates
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of architects and engineers
  • Collaborate with sales, account management, and delivery teams to increase our impact

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Practice Director for Shopify, taking responsibility for capability development, delivery standards, and overall growth
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Shopify, composable commerce, and headless architectures
  • Lead the design of complex solutions covering digital storefronts, integrations, and enterprise systems
  • Drive sales and pre-sales activities, including solution definition, estimations, and proposal preparation
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and potential clients
  • Ensure delivery excellence by guiding teams to guarantee on-time, on-budget, and high-quality deliveries
  • Implement best practices in architecture, development, and DevOps
  • Support and mentor solution architects, technical leads, and senior engineers to strengthen practice capabilities
  • Develop strong partnerships with Shopify and its ecosystem partners
  • Contribute to informed leadership and market positioning to increase Valtech's visibility in the digital commerce domain

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Practice Director, Lead Architect, or Senior Management role in the digital commerce domain
  • Deep expertise in Shopify (strong experience with Shopify Plus is highly preferred)
  • Strong business acumen, with demonstrated experience in revenue growth, managing pre-sales activities, and client account development
  • Extensive experience in client interaction, including collaboration with C-level stakeholders (executive management)
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and tangible business value
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary and distributed teams in a consulting or agency environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Adobe Commerce or other enterprise commerce platforms
  • Experience in composable commerce, headless architectures, and cloud-native architectures
  • Experience in integration with ERPs (SAP, D365, NetSuite) and middleware solutions (Boomi, Celigo, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery models and application lifecycle management (ALM) tools
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
  • Experience with digital experience platforms (Digital Experience Platforms), such as Optimizely and AEM

If you do not possess all the mentioned qualifications or have gaps in your background, we encourage you to apply. At Valtech, we recognize the richness of talents and value the plurality of perspectives and the thirst for learning.
