Director - Business Development, Strategic Partnerships
Primary stack
Job description
About the Position
Samsung Electronics is transforming the TV landscape through its Connected TV platform, enabling consumers to engage in video content experiences like never before and allowing content providers to reach consumers directly in their living rooms. With unmatched global reach, Samsung represents the premier OTT platform in the world. Samsung’s unique first-party data help brands connect to their audience as they explore content across desktop, mobile, tablets, and our Smart TVs. The Samsung Ad platform delivers high-quality audience targeting powered by three key components: first-party audience data at scale, world-class data science, and brand-safe cross-device ad inventory.
We are seeking a Director of Business Development for Strategic Partnerships to lead high-impact partnerships and drive revenue.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the performance of high-impact partnerships
- Build the high-level strategy for strategic partners, identifying critical gaps in our stack and offering and sourcing partners to fill them.
- Define KPIs and performance frameworks that govern our most critical partnerships; lead high-level QBRs that focus on strategic expansion rather than just operational maintenance.
- Maintain executive-level relationships with our most strategic partners, ensuring seamless communication and capitalizing on growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with leadership to evaluate the "Build, Buy, or Partner" landscape, providing the commercial logic and data-driven insights to guide investment decisions.
Requirements
- BA/BS required
- 10+ years of professional experience in AdTech with 6+ years’ experience in Business Development, Corporate Development, or Strategic Partnerships. Proven record of executing deals.
- High degree of comfort with redlining, negotiating, and closing complex deals. You must be able to bridge the gap between business goals, technical needs, and legal requirements.
- Experience leading sophisticated, high-impact projects with cross-functional teams in a variety of regions/time zones.
- Strong problem-solving skills such as prioritization, critical thinking, and hypothesis development. Ability to model the commercial impact of a partnership and use data to justify a go/no-go decision.
- Ability to speak the language of Product and Engineering. No coding experience is required, but you must be able to understand how a partner’s API or SDK will integrate into Samsung’s stack.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Leadership and management experience preferred.
- Self-motivated, assertive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
We Offer
- Salary Range: $210,000 - $240,000 per year
- Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Employee Purchase Program, Tuition Assistance (after 6 months), Paid Time Off, Student Loan Program (after 6 months), Wellness Incentives, and more.
