About the Position
Director of Convention Sales (all genders)
Steigenberger Inselhotel Konstanz in Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg, DE, is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join their team. With a history spanning over 90 years, Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts is the oldest brand of H World International, known for its highest quality and first-class service. Responsibilities
- Leadership and Development: Take full responsibility for the event sales department and ensure its continuous economic and operational development.
- Team Management: Lead, motivate, and develop a small, dedicated team to maintain high service quality and achieve goals.
- Collaboration: Foster good and productive cooperation with service and kitchen staff.
- Customer Service: Provide personal consultation and support to guests from inquiry to post-event follow-up.
- Event Planning: Develop and implement individual event concepts, including conferences, weddings, and celebrations, with a focus on profitability.
- Sales Activities: Independently plan and execute all sales activities, such as customer events, property tours, and presentations.
- Financial Management: Create quotes, calculations, and contracts while considering profitability.
- Operational Efficiency: Efficiently and profitably manage all event sales processes.
- Performance Monitoring: Set, monitor, and achieve departmental goals (budget), including regular analysis and optimization of processes and operations.
- Market Analysis: Observe and analyze the competitive market and derive measures to strengthen market position.
- Reporting and Analysis: Create and interpret reports and analyze customer performance to make data-driven decisions.
- Customer Acquisition: Proactively acquire new customers, especially corporate clients, through various channels.
- Contract Management: Negotiate and finalize contracts to ensure long-term and economically successful customer relationships.
- Customer Relationship Management: Maintain and expand existing customer relationships through professional consultation and support.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in event sales or event management.
- Strong economic thinking and action, as well as experience in budget and goal steering.
- Strong communication skills, negotiation skills, and a high degree of customer orientation and quality.
- Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Fluency in German and English, additional languages are an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office and common hotel software systems (Opera Cloud / Sales & Catering).
