You’ve operated at the intersection of modeling, decision-making, and leadership-and you're excited to elevate the role of Finance in a scaling SaaS business.

Mission

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Director of FP&A to help drive Canary’s next phase of growth. This individual will be responsible for owning company-wide planning and building financial reporting infrastructure. The Director will act as a strategic partner to Leadership, delivering insights that shape decision-making across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a framework for conducting a comprehensive understanding of financial performance against budgets and ongoing forecasts
  • Maintain dynamic operating models, forecasts, and dashboards to support strategic decision-making and scenario planning
  • Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for executive leadership, the Board, and external stakeholders
  • Strengthen financial reporting infrastructure and collaborate cross-functionally to improve tools, systems, and data integrity

Requirements

  • Strategic FP&A leader with experience owning company-wide planning and reporting cadences
  • 8-10 years of work experience across a high-growth SaaS environment
  • Proven expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in leading small, agile teams while balancing individual contributor responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, metrics, and reporting
  • Proficiency in financial systems and language
  • Track record of involvement in capital raises, direct investments, or M&A
  • Investment Banking or Private Equity experience is a plus
  • International experience is a plus

We Offer

  • Compensation: Target cash compensation ranges from $195,000 - $240,000, including a fixed annual salary and a performance-based bonus paid quarterly. This role also includes a stock option grant, subject to board approval. Actual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's skill level, experience, and specific work location.
  • Canary Days: Each month, we provide company-wide days off to ensure there is at least one extended weekend or day off.
  • Self Improvement Club: We meet each month and share our personal goals for the month. Each individual is provided a budget towards any purchases that help us achieve these goals.
  • Professional Development Chats: We provide a budget to help drive cross-functional professional development conversations across the organization.
  • Travel Reimbursement: Team members are able to visit our offices across New York, San Francisco, or Dallas when they choose, and are provided a travel stipend for doing so. Spend time working with the team in their office, and use the rest of your time exploring a new city!
  • Personal Travel Reimbursement: If you stay at a hotel that Canary works with, we provide a credit towards your stay.
