About the Position
Director of Market Development – Southeast Asia (SEA)
This is a pivotal leadership role designed to look beyond day-to-day transactional sales, focusing instead on proactively shaping demand, unlocking new territories, and capturing high-value, large-scale enterprise projects.
Responsibilities
Strategic Market Expansion & Growth
- Orchestrate Regional Strategy: Architect and execute the end-segment commercial roadmap across SEA, translating regional macro-trends (such as healthcare initiatives and environmental policies) into actionable, multi-million-dollar pipelines.
- Uncap Emerging Markets: Uncover and penetrate new account segments and emerging territories currently outside traditional sales coverage.
- Drive Execution Excellence: Standardize commercial execution across business lines, ensuring high-level corporate strategies translate cleanly into field-level victories.
Deal Shaping & Ecosystem Partnerships
- Capture High-Value Projects: Identify, design, and secure complex, large-scale strategic projects-moving the business away from reactive bidding to proactive market creation.
- Build Institutional Alliances: Nurture senior executive-level relationships with government ministries, regulatory bodies, and key private enterprise stakeholders.
- Leverage the Full Portfolio: Champion a unified, full-portfolio approach, collaborating across business units to deliver comprehensive, integrated solutions to major customers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Intelligence
- Act as the Strategic Bridge: Serve as the vital link aligning customers, regional commercial teams, and senior executive leadership on execution priorities.
- Optimize Go-To-Market Channels: Partner seamlessly with local sales, marketing, and channel teams to amplify total commercial impact without duplicating efforts.
- Fortify Market Positioning: Continuous monitoring of competitor movements and market intelligence to fortify the organization's regional leadership.
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Business; an advanced degree or MBA is highly preferred.
- Proven Track Record: 10+ years of high-impact commercial leadership, business development, or market entry experience, ideally within a complex, matrixed multinational corporation.
- SEA Deal Mastery: Demonstrated history of identifying, shaping, and closing massive, complex deals within the Southeast Asian ecosystem.
- Public-Private Savvy: Deep familiarity with SEA public sector procurement, government engagement models, and regulatory navigation.
