[Disney Dreamlight Valley] - Senior Technical Animator

About the Position

We are looking for a passionate and self-motivated Senior Technical Animator to join our Disney Dreamlight Valley design team. A brand cross-platform hybrid life-sim/adventure game already available! Rich with quests, exploration, and engaging activities featuring iconic Disney and Pixar friends, Disney Dreamlight Valley is a 100%-original Gameloft Montreal production, designed by a passionate team just waiting for you to join them!

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain advanced 3ds Max custom rigs for iconic characters, creatures, and mechanical objects
• Develop and optimize rigging workflows to support a wide range of body types for the player avatar, ensuring perfect deformation and garment fit
• Support secondary animation systems and facial animations for in-game characters and creatures
• Create and maintain custom scripts and tools (MAXScript, Python, C#) to automate repetitive rigging tasks and streamline the integration of new outfits and accessories
• Play a proactive role in communication between departments to ensure technical feasibility while meeting production schedules for a live game
• Champion animation quality by creating user-friendly tools, while remaining mindful of performance constraints for a multi-platform production in Unity
• Mentor intermediate and junior technical animators and document best practices

Requirements

• Au moins 5 ans d'expérience dans un environnement de production professionnel, idéalement sur des projets stylisés
• Connaissance approfondie de 3ds Max (rigging avancé) requise
• Solide compréhension des contraintes de l'animation en temps réel, notamment le root motion, le blending d'animation et les machines à états
• Expérience avec la production et la gestion d'animations secondaires (vêtements / physique dynamique) et d'expressions faciales de haute qualité (morphers et squelette facial)
• Maîtrise de l'automatisation des processus de rigging via MAXScript, Python ou C#
• Solide compréhension de la mécanique du corps, de FK/IK, du skinning et excellent sens de l'animation
