Edge AI Systems Architect (m/f/d)

About the Position

We are looking for an Edge AI Systems Architect (m/f/d) to join Staige GmbH in Essen, Germany. Are you passionate about complex system architectures and eager to actively shape the future of edge AI? Responsibilities

• Lead the development and evaluation of complex system architectures for Edge AI and video analytics platforms
• Be responsible for the technical design of new AI, streaming, and infrastructure components
• Analyze technical requirements and translate them into real-world system solutions
• Facilitate collaborative technical decision-making with development, the hardware department, and our customers
• Proactively identify technical risks, scalability issues, and performance limitations
• Actively support prototyping, PoCs, and ongoing product development
• Be responsible for technical alignment across hardware, Edge, Cloud, AI, and integrations

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of Linux/Unix, GPU/edge computing, real-time video processing, and computer vision
• Proficient in using GStreamer, ffmpeg, RTSP, SRT, and HLS
• Solid knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Python (or comparable technical stacks)
• In-depth experience with NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA
• Extensive practical experience with distributed real-time systems, scalable AI pipelines, and multi-camera architectures
• Experience in performance and latency optimization
• Ability to quickly analyze complex technical systems and pragmatically enhance them
• Strong sense of ownership, robust architectural and systems thinking, and a hands-on approach even with high technical complexity
• Excellent German language skills
