About the Position

E/E System Architect – Vehicle Architecture (all gender)

We are seeking a skilled E/E System Architect to join our team in Steiermark. This role involves designing and developing vehicle-level E/E architectures based on functional, technical, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop vehicle-level E/E architectures based on functional, technical, and regulatory requirements
• Translate vehicle requirements into system, subsystem, ECU, and component-level requirements
• Define and maintain system architectures, interfaces, signal flows, and communication concepts
• Design and evaluate vehicle communication networks including CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and diagnostics
• Coordinate the integration of ECUs, sensors, actuators, and software components across vehicle domains
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and technology partners
• Support architecture reviews, system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and change impact assessments
• Ensure requirements traceability and architectural consistency across the complete vehicle system

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Several years of experience in E/E systems development within the automotive or off-highway industry
• Solid understanding of vehicle E/E architectures, systems engineering, and requirements engineering
• Familiarity with automotive communication technologies such as CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and diagnostics (UDS)
• Experience with architecture and requirements management tools such as PREEvision, DOORS, Enterprise Architect, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar MBSE/SysML-based tools
• Knowledge of automotive standards and development processes, including ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE, and ideally ISO/SAE 21434
• Understanding of ECU hardware, embedded software, wiring harnesses, and electrical vehicle architectures
• Experience collaborating with suppliers, development partners, and cross-functional engineering teams
• Excellent English communication skills; German is a plus
