About the Position

EHS Specialist

Veolia Group is seeking an EHS Specialist to join our team in Odessa/Midland. This role involves leading and improving our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program, ensuring compliance and safety across all operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers
• Foster and comply with procedures for reporting and investigating EHS incidents
• Coordinate with management and supervisors to ensure compliance with EHS framework or ISO standards
• Lead incident investigations to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, worksites, and equipment
• Support customer EHS inquiries and discussions related to Veolia activities
• Lead/Assist in special projects including risk reduction initiatives, Gensuite management, and internal program audits
• Collaborate and coach team members to create a culture of inclusion and diversity

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, science, or technical field
• 3-5 years in EHS Administration or support positions
• Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Routine travel required

Nice to Have

• Experience with root cause analysis methods (Apollo, FMEA, Bow-tie, Fishbone, Tap Root, etc.)
• Demonstrated EHS risk recognition and auditing skills (project/field work)
• Transformational leadership skills to coach and guide leaders
• Ability to communicate EHS expectations effectively with stakeholders, sub-contractors, and internal project team members
