Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements
About the Position
BRDO is an independent expert and analytical center working on the development of state policies and reforms for the economic development of Ukraine. We support government bodies in developing regulatory solutions that have a real impact on business and citizens. We are looking for an Intellectual Property (IP) Policy Expert who will join the analytical support of IP reforms and collaborate with the Ministry of Economy and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Analytical support for the Ministry of Economy in the field of intellectual property.
- Analysis of normative legal acts of Ukraine in the field of IP and preparation of proposals for their improvement.
- Preparation of draft changes to normative legal acts (explanatory notes, comparative tables, arguments).
- Analysis of EU and WIPO policies and regulations, participation in the harmonization of legislation.
- Preparation of analytical materials, presentations, policy briefs, and recommendations for decision-making.
- Participation in working groups, discussions, and stakeholder interactions.
Requirements
- Higher legal or economic education.
- Professional knowledge in the field of intellectual property (IP).
- Experience in analyzing normative legal acts and preparing proposals for regulation.
- Familiarity with tools for developing public policy (policy design, evidence-based policy).
- Experience in preparing analytical materials, presentations, and policy briefs.
- Systems thinking, literacy, attention to detail.
- Experience working in analytical or project teams.
- Ability to manage multiple directions in parallel and work with priorities.
- Understanding of the role of the Ministry of Economy and other stakeholders in the development of the IP system and interaction with the market.
Nice to Have
- Practical experience in the development or support of IP reforms.
- Experience in interacting with international organizations/technical assistance projects.
- Knowledge of European approaches to IP protection and their implementation in Ukraine.
