About the Company
Unchained Robotics simplifies access to automation for companies across Europe through robotics solutions. We believe that robotics is a significant opportunity to automate repetitive tasks and address the shortage of skilled workers. We aim to make automation technology accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises.
We offer three key solution components:
- Our online configurator allows companies to create and evaluate customized automation solutions.
- Our cross-brand marketplace offers a wide range of robots, grippers, and cameras from leading manufacturers.
- Our turnkey solutions provide pre-engineered robot cells designed for numerous standard applications in industrial automation, enabling rapid implementation. This is what we call simplified automation.
About the Role
Gestalte mit uns die Zukunft der industriellen Robotik
Are you passionate about creating electrical designs that come to life as real robot systems? Join Unchained Robotics in Paderborn.
As an Elektrokonstrukteur (m/w/d) for Robotics & Automation, you will develop safe, compliant, and scalable electrical solutions for our custom robot systems and our MalocherBot product platform. From concept to switch cabinet design in EPLAN, to setup and testing, you will guide your solutions through the entire development process.
You will work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Software, Assembly, and Project Management. You will take ownership of your projects while having the opportunity to actively develop our electrical standards and modular solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop electrical concepts for custom robot systems and our MalocherBot product platform.
- Independently design switch cabinets using EPLAN.
- Create and maintain complete circuit diagrams, assembly diagrams, terminal diagrams, parts lists, cable lists, and other electrical manufacturing documents.
- Select electrical components, dimension them, and ensure that your designs are safe, compliant, economical, and production-ready.
- Develop and document electrical safety concepts and support the CE conformity process of our robot systems.
- Actively coordinate technical requirements and changes with Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Software Engineering, Assembly, Service, and Project Management.
- Assist in the setup, testing, error analysis, and commissioning of robot systems and prototypes.
- Contribute your experience to the development of our EPLAN standards, reusable circuit diagram modules, and electrical design processes.
As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will also take responsibility for complex technical concepts, conduct technical reviews, and support less experienced colleagues on challenging issues.
Requirements
- Technical education in the electrical field and further education as a technician or master or a degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable qualification.
- At least three years of relevant professional experience in the electrical design of machines or automated systems.
- Proficiency in EPLAN and the ability to independently create complete electrical documents.
- Experience in switch cabinet design and the selection and dimensioning of electrical components.
- Knowledge of industrial sensors, actuators, drive technology, PLC hardware, and bus systems.
- Basic knowledge of relevant electrical standards and machinery safety.
- Ability to independently clarify technical requirements and consider the impact of your decisions on assembly, software, and commissioning.
- Structured, meticulous, and self-motivated work with early identification of technical risks.
- At least B2-level German and good English skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in custom machine construction, mechanical engineering, plant engineering, or industrial automation.
- Knowledge of robot systems or automated production systems.
- Experience with functional safety and safety-oriented control functions.
- Practical experience in assembly, prototype construction, commissioning, or troubleshooting.
- Experience in the standardization and modularization of electrical solutions.
We value the projects you have independently managed more than the sheer number of your professional years. Even if you do not meet every additional requirement, we look forward to your application.
We Offer
- 32 vacation days
- An indefinite full-time position with ample scope for design and responsibility
- A modern and fully digital work equipment
- Short decision-making processes and the opportunity to actively shape technical standards
- An open, relaxed, and international working environment with motivated colleagues
- Close collaboration with various engineering disciplines
- Direct practical relevance: You can experience your designs on the actual robot system later
- Regular team events in Paderborn
- Wellpass membership for your sports activities
- Regular massages as a beneficial counterbalance to the workday
- Welcome package, drinks, and other office benefits
- Corporate Social Responsibility: Invest 1% of your annual working time in social projects
