Job description
About the Position
Employee Relations & Employment Law Specialist
Join SGS as an Employee Relations & Employment Law Specialist to manage legal and employee relations for over 800 employees across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice to HR and line management on individual employment law issues, including contracts, working hours, transfers, secondments, non-compete agreements, confidentiality, whistleblowing, and workplace privacy.
- Ensure the correct and uniform application of applicable collective bargaining agreements (CCNL) - job classifications, pay scales, renewals, contractual welfare - and assess the impact of each renewal on costs and policies.
- Draft and review disciplinary and termination documentation, evaluating legal exposure before adopting any measures.
- Manage labor disputes, transactions, and conciliations with external lawyers, and handle INL and INPS inspections.
- Support reorganizations, acquisitions, and contract changes: legal feasibility, employee transition implications, consultation obligations, and cost scenarios.
- Draft and maintain HR policies, contract templates, and communication formats, validating the legal content of standardized HR processes.
- Train HR colleagues and managers to ensure recurring situations are handled correctly from the outset.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Law, with a specialization in employment and social security law.
- At least 3 years of experience in employment law, either in-house or at a law firm or consultancy.
- Practical application of Italian collective bargaining agreements, particularly in the Commerce, Logistics, and Chemical sectors.
- Experience in drafting disciplinary and termination documentation and managing labor disputes.
- Experience in advising non-legal stakeholders, acting as a partner rather than an authorization point.
- Professional English: you will work with global stakeholders and group policies.
- Ability to take a stance and defend it under pressure, and the pragmatism to quantify risk instead of defaulting to "no".
Nice to Have
- Certification or membership in the Register of Labor Consultants.
- Experience in a multi-location services context or in the ICT sector.
- Knowledge of Workday or equivalent HRIS.
- Experience in HR due diligence or post-acquisition integration.
We Offer
- Permanent contract.
- Annual gross salary between €30,000 and €38,000, based on experience and qualifications.
- €7 daily meal voucher.
- Up to 3 days of remote work per week.
- Continuous training and professional development plan.
- Opportunities for growth and development within the organization.
