Energy Efficiency Expert in Buildings
Job description
About the Position
We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Expert in Buildings to join our team in Côte d'Ivoire. This role involves planning, designing, and implementing energy efficiency interventions in public buildings under a donor-funded sustainable infrastructure programme.
Responsibilities
- Conduct energy audits of existing buildings and analyze energy usage
- Assess air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, domestic hot water, and other systems
- Develop an energy baseline and define performance indicators
- Identify, cost, and prioritize energy-saving measures
- Perform technical and economic analysis of proposed solutions and assist with technical specifications preparation
- Utilize office software and preferably energy calculation or simulation software
- Support the preparation of technical dossiers
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Formulating technical specifications relating to selected energy measures
- Contributing to drafting ToRs, tender documents, CAD drawings, or other necessary technical documents
- Supporting the definition of performance to be monitored during and after works
Requirements
- Minimum five-year post-secondary qualification in energy, building thermal engineering, HVAC engineering, electromechanics, electrical engineering, building engineering, or an equivalent field
- Additional training or certification in energy efficiency, energy audits, or building energy performance is desirable
- At least 8 years’ general experience in the field of energy, building services, or technical equipment
