Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, fault-finding, and commissioning traffic signal & signs equipment and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
• Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Providing practical support and guidance to Engineers and Trainee Engineers on site.
• Sharing technical knowledge and helping to develop capability across the team.
• Working across planned and reactive maintenance activities.
• Responding to faults, completing required operational documentation.
• Participating in standby and call-out arrangements as required.

Requirements

• Experience in traffic signal, ITS, signs, electrical, or electronic engineering.
• Strong practical engineering, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant Sector 8 accreditation and associated industry qualifications, including NRSWA, G39, and ECS where applicable.
• A good understanding of safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements.
• The ability to work independently and as part of an operational engineering team.
• The ability to support, coach, and share technical knowledge with less experienced Engineers and Trainee Engineers.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• A reliable, practical, and safety-focused approach.
• A full UK Driving Licence.

Nice to Have

• An HNC, ONC, or equivalent qualification in an Electrical/Electronic discipline.
• Additional relevant industry qualifications.
