Lead and grow autonomous engineering teams at TicketSwap. Shape how we build and deliver software at scale, combining people-first leadership with predictable delivery and real fan impact.

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Manager at TicketSwap, you’ll lead one or more cross-functional product development teams made up of backend, frontend, and mobile engineers. Your role sits at the intersection of people leadership, delivery, and technical direction.

People & Team Leadership

• Coach and support engineers in their professional growth through regular feedback, mentoring, and clear expectations.
• Create an environment of psychological safety, accountability, and ownership, where people can do their best work over the long term.
• Handle performance management with care and clarity, supporting both high performers and those who need help to grow.

Delivery & Ways of Working

• Help teams plan and execute work more predictably and sustainably, strengthening feedback loops and delivery flow.
• Work closely with Product Managers to set clear goals, define priorities, and align on outcomes.
• Evolve shared principles around planning, execution, and quality - while respecting each team’s context and autonomy.

Technical Direction & Operational Health

• Partner with senior engineers to help set technical direction, surface trade-offs, and resolve blockers.
• Ensure teams operate with a high level of operational maturity, including healthy on-call practices, monitoring, incident response, and continuous learning.
• Be technically fluent enough to challenge decisions, ask the right questions, and support sound engineering outcomes - without needing to be the strongest engineer in the room.

Department-level Impact

• Collaborate with other Engineering Managers to improve how we run the engineering department as a whole.
• Contribute to evolving our engineering culture, processes, and organizational structures as we evolve.
• Act as a connector between teams, helping reduce friction and improve collaboration across the organization.

Requirements

About You

• Managed engineering teams for multiple years in a product-focused environment.
• Led cross-functional teams and understand the realities of balancing people, delivery, and technical concerns.
• Experience improving ways of working across multiple teams, especially as organizations grow and mature.
• Comfortable operating in environments where teams are successful but not identical, and know how to evolve shared practices without forcing uniformity.
• Believe that speed and quality are not opposites, and care deeply about delivering real value to users while building resilient systems.
• Motivated by helping organizations and people grow - and excited about contributing to TicketSwap’s next stage of evolution.
• Based in the Netherlands, have an EU passport, or have a partner / highly skilled migrant visa here.

Practical Details

• Location: Amsterdam (office-first, hybrid possible)
• Salary range: €85.000-€97.000 per annum incl holiday allowance
• Hours: 32 - 40 hours per week
• Type: Full-time, Fixed-term
