Engineering Manager, Google Photos Growth

About the Position

Join Google's Photos Growth team as an Engineering Manager to drive user growth and improve user experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with cross-functional peers such as Product and UX to collaboratively define the goal and strategy for growing and activating new users on Google Photos.
• Define and influence technical direction and long-term strategy in conjunction with peer leads, helping the team make balanced tradeoffs, and prioritize engineering excellence investments in a systemic way.
• Manage an engineering team across Android and iOS including formal career management and coaching to help the team grow in directions that are exciting to them.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Nice to Have

• 5 years of experience with mobile app development (iOS or Android).
• Experience building full stack solutions, platforms or infrastructure.
