We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Machine Learning team focused on Fraud Detection at Stripe. This role is pivotal in enhancing our risk management capabilities and improving the merchant experience.

About the Team

Our Risk Detection team is dedicated to ensuring a smooth and secure experience for our merchants while safeguarding the financial ecosystem. We focus on minimizing friction and providing clear communication and workflows to resolve issues effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support the team in delivering high-quality technical solutions via APIs, user-facing experiences, services, and systems.
• Recruit, hire, scale, and develop a talented team of engineers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, product teams, infrastructure teams, and risk strategists.
• Be actively involved in strategic direction and platform decisions that impact Stripe and its customers.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• At least 3 years of engineering management experience.
• Prior experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing teams that collaborate with product teams and respond rapidly to customer needs.
• Enjoy designing, measuring, and improving user experience.
• Empathetic to customer needs with a visionary approach to delivering strategic and foundational technology.
• Comfortable planning in quarters and setting a vision for several years.
• Comfortable working with geographically distributed teams and remote workers.

We Offer

• Competitive salary range: $150,000 - $250,000 per year.
• Full-time, remote work opportunity.
