Responsibilities

Your team drives reliability standards across 170+ applications, contributing directly to supporting 520,000 health professionals and 90 million patients in their daily healthcare journey.

People Leadership

  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top SRE talent aligned with Doctolib's mission and values

Technical Strategy

  • Define and evolve the reliability and observability strategy across the platform, covering infrastructure automation, logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
  • Drive prioritization and roadmap planning for large-scale reliability initiatives, including SLOs, error budgets, and alerting standards across multiple product teams
  • Own the evolution of critical transversal services (e.g., secrets management, infrastructure as code tooling) that support secure, scalable infrastructure management across the organization
  • Advocate for and allocate resources toward reducing technical debt and improving developer experience

Operational Excellence

  • Own the team's on-call experience and contribute to incident response processes, ensuring sustainable practices and continuous improvement
  • Lead postmortem reviews and drive systemic improvements to prevent recurring issues
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of the services your team owns

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and architects to align reliability and observability capabilities with product and platform needs
  • Represent your team in engineering leadership forums, architectural reviews, and strategic planning sessions
  • Foster strong partnerships with software engineering teams to embed reliability practices early in the development lifecycle

Requirements

Required Skills

  • Have at least 5+ years of software engineering or SRE experience, with a strong technical background in cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, and/or Kubernetes-based)
  • Have 3+ years of engineering management experience, leading technical teams (ideally SRE, platform, or infrastructure teams)
  • Have a strong understanding of observability tooling and architecture (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Datadog, Elasticsearch)
  • Have experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and secrets management systems
  • Have a proven ability to balance technical depth with people leadership, able to mentor engineers, review technical designs, and guide architectural decisions
  • Are fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Experience scaling SRE or platform teams in fast-growing, high-traffic environments
  • Hands-on experience with backend programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Ruby)
  • Experience driving cultural and technical transformations
  • Appreciation for working in regulated environments (healthcare, fintech, or similar); at Doctolib, data privacy and compliance are part of every engineering decision
