Systems Architect, Enterprise Infrastructure

About the Position

Mirantis is seeking a Systems Architect, Enterprise Infrastructure to align enterprise technology with business objectives, focusing on cloud, containers, and AI. This role is fully remote within the European Union.

Responsibilities

• Work with Mirantis customers, colleagues, stakeholders, partners, vendors, and other resources to improve the customer’s experience.
• Assess and understand the customer’s business strategy, drivers, and constraints.
• Collaborate with the customer to address shortcomings of the current state.
• Employ Mirantis products and experience to transform the existing landscape into a coherent, stable, secure, and future-proof platform.
• Provide defensible reasoning for recommendations to help the customer understand the choices made.
• Become a trusted advisor of the customer.
• Work with Mirantis product teams to further development and eliminate shortcomings.
• Present architectures, roadmaps, and rationale to audiences ranging from customer executives to hands-on engineers.
• Engage on-site with customers across regions as part of the discovery, design, and advisory process.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Extensive architecture and engineering experience across infrastructure or platform engineering, including customer-facing architecture or advisory experience.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Demonstrated ability to think about the enterprise as a whole, connecting technology decisions to business goals.
• Broad, credible fluency across a range of technologies, including:
  • Private cloud platforms including OpenStack
  • Kubernetes-based container platforms
  • Multi-cluster management concepts and tooling
  • Workload requirements
  • VMware estate modernization
  • Bare-metal provisioning and physical infrastructure lifecycle, including data center concepts
  • The components of a cloud or container platform and how they fit together.
• At least one area of subject matter expertise (e.g., networking)
• Strong solution orientation: “Find a way”
• Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go)
• Strong ability to communicate architecture and rationale to both business and technical audiences in both written and spoken formats
• Ability and willingness to travel, primarily within the EU and US.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Mirantis products and services
• Familiarity with Software-Defined Networking (SDN)
• Familiarity with Software-Defined Storage (SDS)
• Workload orchestration
• Understanding of AI inference application requirements
• Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks or methods (e.g., TOGAF or equivalent)
• Exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud strategy and workload portability
• Additional European language skills (beyond the required English)
