About the Position

Enterprise Risk Manager

Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA's Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract. As a trusted partner to the Federal Aviation Administration, Peraton helps deliver the systems and services that keep our nation's skies safe and connected. We're looking for innovative professionals who thrive in mission-critical environments and are passionate about shaping the future of air traffic management. This is your chance to make an impact on one of the world’s most vital transportation infrastructures, working alongside leaders in aviation, engineering, data science, and systems integration.

At Peraton, you won't just support the mission - you'll define it.

Responsibilities

  • Enterprise Risk Management

    • Develop and maintain the Risk, Opportunity, and Issue Management Plan across program portfolios.
    • Establish and manage enterprise risk registers, risk taxonomies, escalation criteria, and tracking mechanisms.
    • Identify potential risks and opportunities affecting program performance, cost, schedule, technical execution, safety, resources, supply chain, and operations.
    • Conduct risk impact assessments, probability analyses, and other quantitative and qualitative analyses to support informed decision-making.
    • Identify cross-program dependencies, systemic risks, risk concentrations, common-cause risks, and potential cascading impacts across the enterprise.
    • Distinguish program-level issues from risks requiring enterprise visibility, escalation, mitigation, or leadership action.
  • Safety Risk Management (SRM) & Operational Risk Management (ORM)

    • Apply SRM and ORM principles to identify hazards, operational risks, controls, mitigations, and residual risk.
    • Support structured evaluation of likelihood, severity, consequence, exposure, and operational impact.
    • Integrate safety and operational risk considerations with broader enterprise program, schedule, technical, resource, and supply-chain risks.
    • Work with safety, engineering, operational, and program stakeholders to validate risk statements, assumptions, controls, and mitigation effectiveness.
  • Governance & Compliance

    • Enforce risk management policies aligned with federal regulations, agency guidance, contractual requirements, and program governance.
    • Ensure compliance with program governance frameworks and applicable regulatory standards.
    • Support program leadership during internal reviews, audits, compliance assessments, and executive governance forums.
    • Promote consistent risk definitions, scoring, escalation, ownership, documentation, and closure criteria across the portfolio.
  • Risk Mitigation & Strategic Planning

    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, corrective action plans, and risk response options.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement effective risk response strategies.
    • Monitor mitigation progress, residual risk, risk acceptance decisions, and timely resolution of issues.
    • Identify emerging risks and recommend proactive solutions to prevent operational disruptions or mission impacts.
    • Assess the potential effects of schedule convergence, resource contention, supplier constraints, technology dependencies, and other cross-cutting risk drivers.
  • Program Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Collaborate with program managers, engineers, schedulers, safety professionals, supply-chain teams, and operational stakeholders to identify and manage risks across workstreams.
    • Facilitate risk workshops, risk review meetings, and stakeholder validation sessions.
    • Challenge assumptions constructively and ensure enterprise risks are supported by defensible evidence and analysis.
    • Provide leadership with data-driven insights and recommendations related to program and enterprise risk posture.
  • Analytics, Reporting & Decision Support

    • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, correlations, concentrations, emerging risks, and changes in enterprise exposure.
    • Integrate information from risk registers, Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), technical assessments, operational data, supply-chain information, and stakeholder inputs.
    • Develop risk dashboards, heat maps, trend analyses, executive reports, and briefing materials to communicate enterprise risk status.
    • Use structured analytical methods such as scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, risk forecasting, and, where appropriate, probabilistic techniques to improve decision support.
    • Translate complex analytical findings into concise executive-level assessments that clearly communicate what the risk is, why it matters, what could happen, and what action or decision is required.
    • Track and analyze mitigation effectiveness and support leadership decision-making through structured risk analysis and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Required Qualifications

    • U.S. Citizenship Required.
    • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
    • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of experience or Master's degree and 10 years experience or Associate’s degree and 14 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years experience.
    • Significant experience supporting enterprise risk management, program risk management, operational risk, safety risk, or complex program integration.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Safety Risk Management (SRM) and Operational Risk Management (ORM) concepts and methodologies.
    • Strong analytical skills, including demonstrated ability to synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative information into actionable insights.
    • Experience identifying systemic, cross-cutting, and cross-program risks across complex programs, portfolios, or interconnected systems.
    • Experience conducting risk likelihood, consequence, impact, trend, and mitigation-effectiveness analyses.
    • Experience developing executive-level risk assessments, dashboards, briefings, and recommendations.
    • Ability to facilitate discussions with technical subject matter experts and senior stakeholders and challenge assumptions constructively.
    • Demonstrated ability to convert incomplete or imperfect data into defensible analytical insights while clearly communicating assumptions and limitations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience supporting the FAA, aviation, the National Airspace System, transportation, defense, intelligence, or another mission-critical environment.
    • Experience with FAA SRM processes, Safety Management Systems (SMS), ORM, or comparable federal risk-management frameworks.
    • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Data Analytics, Systems Engineering, Business Analytics, Risk Management, or a related quantitative or technical discipline.
    • Experience analyzing Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), critical paths, schedule dependencies, convergence, resource constraints, or cross-program integration risks.
    • Experience with supply-chain, supplier, procurement, technology, infrastructure, or workforce risk analysis.
    • Familiarity with probabilistic risk analysis, sensitivity analysis, scenario analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, statistical modeling, or related quantitative risk methods.
    • Experience with analytical and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Python, R, SQL, enterprise risk-management systems, or schedule-analysis tools.
    • Knowledge of enterprise governance processes including risk escalation, risk acceptance, mitigation planning, and executive decision support.
