About the Role
We are seeking a Compliance Specialist with expertise in Mexican labor, payroll, social security, and tax legislation to join our team in Mexico City. This role will act as a bridge between regulatory requirements and product/service development, ensuring that our payroll solutions remain aligned with current regulations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Regulatory Changes: Monitor and analyze changes in Mexican labor, payroll, fiscal, and social security legislation, identifying impacts on systems and services.
- Legal Evaluation: Assess the legal implications of regulatory updates on the functioning of the payroll system and operational processes.
- Clear Guidelines: Translate complex legal regulations into clear and actionable guidelines for product, development, and service teams.
- Internal Reference: Serve as an internal point of reference for legal queries related to payroll processes and system behavior.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product and technology teams throughout the implementation cycle of regulatory changes.
- Legal Input: Provide legal inputs for functional definition, without delving into technical specifications.
- External Coordination: Coordinate and liaise with external legal firms, integrating their advice into internal processes.
- Documentation: Prepare documentation, presentations, and communications to explain regulatory changes and their business implications.
- Knowledge Transfer: Ensure the accurate transmission of legal knowledge to non-legal teams, facilitating decision-making.
Requirements
- Education: Professional degree in Law.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of Mexican legislation in payroll, labor law, social security, and related taxes.
- Experience: Previous experience in roles related to payroll, HR, compliance, or regulatory legal advisory.
- Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulations. Skill in translating legal concepts into clear language for non-legal areas.
- Collaboration: Experience working with multiple stakeholders (legal, product, operations, technology).
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Language: Intermediate/advanced English level (especially reading and speaking).
- Experience: Experience working with external legal firms.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in technology companies, fintech, or payroll solution providers.
