We are looking for an Internal Controls Specialist to join the Finops team at Grupo QuintoAndar.

The main focus of the position will be to coordinate the execution and evolution of the internal controls environment within the team, contributing to the strengthening of governance, the reliability of financial reports, and the preparation for SOX Compliance.

This person will be responsible for:

• Coordinating Internal Controls activities within the team;
• Ensuring the monitoring of the implementation, execution, documentation, and evaluation of controls;
• Supporting responsible areas in the structuring of processes and the correction of deficiencies;
• Monitoring testing cycles, remediations, and retests;
• Acting as the focal point in the relationship with internal and external audits;
• Supporting projects, new products, and relevant changes in processes, aiming to mitigate risks and structure sustainable controls.

As an Internal Controls Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating the team's recurring activities, ensuring the quality of deliveries, meeting schedules, and the evolution of the internal controls environment.

The position requires management skills, critical vision, technical knowledge, and the ability to act transversally with different areas and hierarchical levels.

Among the main responsibilities are:

• Coordinating the agenda of implemented Controls, distributing team activities, monitoring deliveries, priorities, and deadlines;
• Monitoring the recurring execution of internal controls and ensuring compliance with evidence, testing, and certification cycles;
• Monitoring the implementation status of controls planned in the SOX preparation roadmap;
• Reviewing risk and control matrices, flowcharts, narratives, policies, procedures, and work papers;
• Evaluating the design of controls and the adherence of evidence to established requirements;
• Coordinating design and operational effectiveness tests of controls;
• Ensuring the consistency of the testing methodology, sampling criteria, documentation, and conclusion of work;
• Supporting control owners in understanding risks, control objectives, and documentation requirements;
• Monitoring control deficiencies, identified exceptions, action plans, and remediation deadlines;
• Coordinating retests of controls classified as ineffective;
• Evaluating root cause analyses and challenging proposed action plans by areas;
• Acting as the focal point for external audit and Internal Audit on topics related to financial and operational controls;
• Coordinating walkthroughs, evidence requests, and discussions on scope, methodology, exceptions, and deficiencies;
• Ensuring that control information and status are updated in management and monitoring tools;
• Preparing and reviewing indicators, dashboards, executive reports, and materials for governance committees and forums;
• Supporting new product projects, system changes, and process transformation, assessing risks and control requirements;
• Identifying opportunities for simplification, standardization, automation, and continuous monitoring of controls;

Knowledge and Skills

We are looking for someone with solid experience in Internal Controls, Audit, Risks, or SOX, preferably in large companies, dynamic environments, or organizations preparing for an IPO.

Required professional experience

• Relevant experience in Internal Controls, Internal Audit, External Audit, Risks, Compliance, or SOX;
• Previous experience in coordinating activities, project management, or team leadership;
• Experience with the evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting - ICFR;
• Experience interacting with external audits and executive areas;
• Ability to manage multiple processes, stakeholders, and schedules simultaneously.

Tools and market standards

• Knowledge of COSO and SOX, including Section 404 requirements;
• Knowledge of PCAOB audit standards;
• Experience with risk and control management tools, preferably AuditBoard or similar platforms;
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets;
• Experience with data analysis, dashboards, and indicators;
• Knowledge of process improvement, control automation, and continuous monitoring.

Differentials

• Previous experience in Big Four, external audit, or risk consulting;
• Experience in companies preparing for an IPO;
• Experience in technology companies, fintechs, marketplaces, or fast-growing environments;
• Knowledge of the business's operational and financial processes;
• Experience in team management;
• Intermediate or advanced English or Spanish;
• Experience working with multicultural teams and different countries.
