Mannheim Büro, Berlin Büro, Hamburg Büro, Remote

About the Role

Are you passionate about numbers and costs, and do you want to rethink controlling instead of manually copying reports?

As a Financial Controller:in (m/w/d), you will be the central interface between our operational departments and the management. With your analyses and reports, you will ensure transparency. You will monitor the profitability of our products, shape our business planning, and professionalize our processes. AI will help you automate routine tasks, leaving more time for what matters: making the right economic decisions. If you are eager to take on real responsibility in a young team, you are exactly right here.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Controlling: You will take over the monthly reporting and analyze our most important KPIs (e.g., ROAS, Contribution Margins, Logistics Costs) thoroughly. The basis is data from our Data Warehouse instead of manual exports.
  • Business Planning: You will support budget planning, e.g., for our sales events, and rolling forecasts. You will develop planning models and scenarios that serve as a solid decision-making basis for management.
  • Budget vs. Actual Comparisons: You will identify deviations between plan and reality, find the causes in the data, and provide concrete impulses for countermeasures.
  • Automation & AI: You will use AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Lovable) in your daily work to automate recurring tasks. If necessary, you will build your own dashboards, analysis tools, or small internal applications via Vibe Coding.
  • Data Quality: You will understand our data flows (shop, marketplaces, marketing, accounting) and recognize inconsistencies. Together with the data team, you will work on clean KPI definitions and a reliable data basis.
  • Interface Management: You will advise our departments (e.g., Marketing, Purchasing & Logistics, Sales) on business-related questions and support them in finding answers with data and AI.

Requirements

  • Education: You have a completed degree in Business Administration with a focus on Controlling/Finance or a comparable qualification.
  • Experience: You have at least 2 years of professional experience in controlling, ideally in E-Commerce, Retail, or a dynamic start-up environment.
  • Solid Business Administration and Finance Knowledge: You are familiar with P&L, contribution margin calculation, cash flow, planning, and key figure analysis and know what is behind the numbers.
  • Analytical Thinking: You understand complex situations, recognize connections, and interpret data precisely.
  • Data Understanding: You understand where numbers come from and how they are related. You recognize when something is not plausible and question numbers before presenting them.
  • AI Affinity: You already actively use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) in your daily work and are keen to improve processes with them. Initial experience with Vibe Coding is a plus.
  • Teamwork & Hands-on Mentality: You like working in a team, are curious, and try out new tools yourself.
  • Language Skills: Very good German and English skills.

On top, there is an employee discount at our Snocks Coffee and a tax-free benefit (50€ / month) that you can use flexibly for your weekly shopping or, e.g., a membership at Urban Sports Club.

  • Real Flexibility: Whether it's a workation with friends or colleagues, morning yoga, or a sports session at noon - with us, you can easily combine work and private life.

  • Office Life: It never gets boring with us: whether it's table tennis, Fifa, or Mario Kart after work, cooking and lunch together, fresh fruit, coffee from the espresso machine, or the muesli bar. And the best part: your pet is welcome in the office too!
  • We'll Get You Dressed: No SNOCKS Group products in your wardrobe yet? We'll change that! You will receive a 360€ voucher from us every year as well as further great discounts and offers such as corporate benefits.

About Us

SNOCKS - those were the ones with the socks, right?

Yes, that was us. And now we are so much more than that.

From the idea of two cousins selling socks on Amazon, a successful e-commerce company has emerged. Wait, ONE company? No, now there are already four brands united in the House of Brands: SNOCKS, OCEANSAPART, femtis, and Les Lunes. So no longer just basics for underneath, but also activewear and period underwear. And if we listen to the expansion ideas of our managing directors Johannes Kliesch and Rehan Choudhry, we are sure: Boring won't happen in the next few years either.

With everything that has happened since 2016, it is hard to describe us as an employer. Perhaps best like this: Imagine a company where everything is planned down to the smallest detail and your ideas need three feedback loops before you can maybe implement them. Sounds boring? We think so too! No matter how many brands and millions come along, we won't stop playing Mario Kart during the break. How does that sound to you?
