About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to manage our financial operations and shape the company's financial strategy. Our partner, an international retail company with over 1600 stores, is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to oversee our financial activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze key financial metrics, variance analysis, and management reports for decision-making.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
• Manage the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and re-forecasting as needed.
• Analyze discrepancies between actual results and budget and propose corrective actions.
• Assist department heads in managing their budgets and understanding financial metrics.
• Develop and maintain a reliable internal control system to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax filings, financial audits, and corporate governance standards.
• Coordinate and manage external audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Control cash flow management, ensuring the company meets liquidity requirements and optimizes cash usage.
• Manage working capital, including accounts payable and receivable, and inventory turnover to maximize cash flow efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to retail operations, including gross margin, product profitability, and inventory levels.
• Collaborate with merchandising, procurement, and sales teams to ensure financial alignment with retail operations.
• Track advertising expenses, discounts, and sales metrics to ensure profitability goals are met.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
• Control expenses and implement cost control measures to ensure business operations within financial targets.
• Support pricing decisions and evaluate the financial impact of promotional activities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in financial management, preferably in retail or consumer goods.
• Proficiency in Romanian, English, and Russian/Ukrainian.
• Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Extensive experience with accounting systems, ERP platforms (such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), and financial reporting tools.
• Proactive, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• High level of integrity and ethical standards.
