Forming Operator - Journeyman

We are seeking a skilled Forming Operator - Journeyman to join our team in Toano, VA. This role involves operating bottle forming machines, performing defect analysis, and assisting with repairs. If you have a passion for glass manufacturing and possess a Journeyman Card, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

The Forming Operator - Journeyman will:

• Perform necessary doping and swabbing of mold equipment, adjust temperatures, and change blanks, molds, and finish mold changes.
• Report any bad glass, bad machine conditions, or defective machine parts to crew-leaders and supervisors.
• Gauge weight and selected physical dimensions on complete set-out and/or random samples and record using the computer terminal.
• Re-qualify all cavities following any major downtime.

Requirements

• Previous experience with bottle tongs, hand tools, swabs, conveyors, ware gauges, computer terminal, etc.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and some holiday coverage.
• Ability to work safely in a hot, dirty, and loud environment.
• Commitment to meeting quality standards, comply with SOP’s, and willing to learn SPC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forming Operator Journeyman Card required.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
