Responsibilities

As our Forward Deployed Engineering Manager (FDE Manager), you will be the driving operational force behind customer-facing technical delivery. This is an active, delivery-centric management role: you are not sitting on the sidelines writing strategy docs, nor are you an individual contributor coding all day. Instead, you are orchestrating high-velocity technical rollouts across multiple enterprise clients while leading, unblocking, and holding accountable an elite squad of Forward Deployed Engineers.

You sit squarely at the intersection of client commitments, rapid engineering execution, and platform hardening. You will own delivery timelines, technical solution designs, risk mitigation, and engineer resourcing, ensuring your team ships production-grade AI Agents, RAG workflows, and enterprise integrations on schedule. Simultaneously, you act as the critical bridge back to Core R&D-ensuring field solutions are packaged into scalable, reusable platform features rather than one-off custom code.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering background, with solid hands-on roots in backend systems, APIs, and modern languages (Node.js/TypeScript, Python, or Java; SQL and relational databases).
• 3+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated success leading software or solutions engineering teams through active, multi-client technical deliveries.
• Proven Track Record in Customer-Facing Delivery: Substantial experience in forward deployed engineering, enterprise solutions architecture, technical consulting, or professional services where you managed high-stakes delivery commitments.
• Enterprise Systems & Security Acumen: Deep familiarity with integrating complex enterprise ecosystems (SAP, Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) and identity/security frameworks (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, RBAC).
• AI & Automation Fluency: Strong working knowledge of Generative AI implementations in enterprise settings (RAG architectures, LLM orchestration, agentic workflows, API-based agents).
• Agile Project Command: Expert-level mastery of running high-velocity delivery sprints, scoping MVPs, managing customer trade-offs, and tracking delivery metrics in tools like Jira.
• Communication & Presence: Fluent in English; exceptionally skilled at managing executive stakeholders, translating technical risk into business context, and facilitating difficult scope conversations.
• Travel: Willingness to travel periodically (approx. 10–15%) for key kickoff workshops, solution reviews, or critical on-site go-lives.

Nice to Have

• Experience working inside high-growth B2B SaaS environments dealing with fast-scaling infrastructure (Kubernetes, GCP/Azure, event-driven Pub/Sub).
• Background turning custom client deliveries into off-the-shelf product features or SDKs.
• Professional proficiency in French.
