Forward Deployed Engineer with advanced Cursor AI experience

About the Position

We are seeking experienced Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) with advanced Cursor AI experience for freelance or contract roles. The technology stack may vary depending on the client request, so please do not limit the search to one specific stack. We need strong polyglot engineers who can quickly understand unfamiliar codebases and become productive in a short time.

Engagement Type: Freelance / Contract

Format: Remote, hybrid, or on-site depending on client request

Availability: Immediate or short notice preferred

Responsibilities

• Engage in client-facing consulting or Proof of Concept (POC) environments
• Analyze and understand unfamiliar codebases quickly
• Implement agent-driven development workflows using Cursor
• Prepare documentation, PRs, and conduct multi-file refactoring
• Assist in debugging and test generation

Requirements

• 10+ years of commercial software engineering experience
• Strong engineering background across multiple technology stacks (Java,.NET, Python, TypeScript, etc.)
• Proven ability to work with unfamiliar codebases
• Advanced hands-on Cursor experience in real projects
• Experience with agentic AI-assisted development workflows
• Strong understanding of architecture, code quality, testing, CI/CD, and secure development
• Ability to work independently in client-facing environments
• Strong English communication skills
• Freelance or contract availability on short notice

Nice to Have

• Experience with tools like Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, Aider, Windsurf, Devin, Replit Agent, etc.
• Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solution Architect, Principal Engineer, or Technical Lead
• Experience with enterprise modernization, POCs, accelerators, or AI transformation projects
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience mentoring teams or creating AI-assisted engineering best practices
