Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

Founding Chief of Staff/ Head of BizOps

Location: Mountain View, CA, US

Salary: $150K - $200K

Job type: Full-time

About the Role

As the Founding Chief of Staff / Head of BizOps at Socratix AI, you'll work directly with the founders on the highest-priority initiatives across customers, operations, and go-to-market. This is not a support role - you'll operate as an extension of the founding team and own the execution that turns conversations into closed, delivered deals.

You'll gain firsthand exposure to what it takes to build and scale a venture-backed AI startup, from closing enterprise customers to standing up the systems that let the company scale.

If you're excited about ownership, ambiguity, and high-impact work, you'll thrive here.

Responsibilities

  • Run deal operations end-to-end - proposals, pricing, order forms, pilot agreements, and contract turnaround.
  • Sit in on customer calls and synthesize them into crisp recaps, next steps, and briefs the team can act on.
  • Support enterprise pilots and deployments, ensuring customers see impact quickly.
  • Project manage the operational backbone of every deal - due diligence, security questionnaires, and vendor onboarding - so nothing stalls between a "yes" and a signed, deployed customer.
  • Help build a repeatable sales motion - instrument the CRM, track conversion, and turn bespoke, founder-led deals into a documented playbook.
  • Identify bottlenecks and proactively solve them - no task is too small or too strategic.

This role evolves with company needs - you’ll work on whatever moves the needle most that week.

Requirements

Must-haves:

  • 2+ years in a high-ownership operating role (Chief of Staff, BizOps, GTM/Ops, or consulting).
  • Exceptional structured thinking and written communication.
  • Strong analytical skills (comfortable deriving insights from data).
  • High agency - you don't wait to be told what to do.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and fast-moving environments.
  • Strong business and product sense.

Nice-to-haves (but not required):

  • Prior experience working at an early-stage startup.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (fintech, banking, compliance, or healthcare).
  • Technical fluency (you can understand APIs, AI workflows, or build a quick prototype).
  • Interest in growing into a COO, Head of Customer Success, or senior operating role.

We Offer

  • Direct partnership with founders who've built and scaled AI systems at DoorDash, Cruise, and LinkedIn.
  • End-to-end ownership of high-impact company initiatives.
  • Deep exposure to enterprise sales cycles and customer strategy.
  • Insight into roadmap decisions and strategic trade-offs.
  • A front-row seat to building AI agents used in production.
  • A clear path into senior leadership.
