Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are looking for a Founding Frontend Engineer with 6+ YOE to join Effective AI's core product team. We need an opinionated builder who can ship complex, stateful UI systems from scratch - without designs handed down - and has the product instincts to make the right calls independently. This is our highest priority hire, driven by the growing complexity of our agentic platform and the immediate need to build foundational UX patterns for multi-agent AI workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and build the stateful chat and session UI that sits at the core of our product - the hard part is state management and edge case handling, not implementing designs
  • Build a greenfield app platform dashboard from scratch: history, checkpoints, rollback, publish flow, and loading states (reference points: Lovable, Replit, Base44)
  • Own and maintain a shared UI component library used by both the web app and the AI agent itself as it builds customer-facing applications
  • Write UI guidelines and styling patterns that the AI agent follows when generating frontend code - you are making the agent a better frontend engineer
  • Identify and build out end-to-end UI testing infrastructure, including exploring natural language test frameworks

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in frontend engineering
  • Has shipped complex B2B platforms or workflow tools from 0→1
  • Strong product sense and UI/UX design sensibilities
  • Demonstrable career growth - reached senior level within 5–6 years
  • Experience at both early-stage startups and scaled tech companies
  • Degree in CS, math, physics, or related engineering field, preferably from a top-tier school
  • Expertise in React and TypeScript
  • Experience with data visualization or realtime systems
  • Some backend experience, particularly with Node.js

  • Competitive salary: $200K–$275K base + 0.2–0.7% equity
  • $10K relocation package
  • Remote within the US or in-office in SF, California. Preference for candidates based in SF or Vancouver
