Front-end Engineer

About the Position

Front-end Engineer at MOXY, a software and design studio based in Porto, Portugal, is an exciting opportunity for a talented developer passionate about creating impactful user experiences. Responsibilities

• Implement user interfaces using HTML5 and CSS3 that work seamlessly on both desktop and mobile browsers.
• Develop robust, reusable, and maintainable JavaScript code.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
• Proactively look for ways to improve the codebase and workflow.
• Work closely with designers and other engineers, contributing ideas, opinions, and solutions to problems and projects.

Requirements

• Have a solid understanding of the web technology stack.
• Have a deep understanding of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Be disciplined about writing unit and integration tests.
• Be ready to collaborate with the business, including helping with technical writing and other marketing-related activities.
• Be aware of the differences and quirks across browsers in terms of rendering and code compatibility.

Nice to Have

• Contribute to open-source projects.
• Be familiar with new JavaScript language features as defined by ES6, ES7, and ES8.
• Have used some of the newest libraries and tools within the ecosystem, such as React, Redux/Mobx, PostCSS, and Webpack.
• Have experience implementing single-page apps.
• Have used NPM to manage dependencies and run tasks.
• Feel comfortable with Git.
• Be familiar with Agile methodologies (Scrum).
