About the Position
Ingenico is building the next generation of scalable, reusable frontend architectures that power payment products used worldwide. As part of this mission, we are developing shared technical and UI libraries to ensure consistency, speed, and quality across multiple teams. A key pillar of this strategy is the Ingenico Micro-Frontend Framework, and we are looking for a seasoned Frontend Tech Lead to drive its evolution and adoption across the platform.
As a Frontend Tech Lead, you will define and execute the technical strategy for our shared libraries and micro-frontend ecosystem. You will guide and mentor a team of frontend engineers, foster engineering excellence across the chapter, and collaborate closely with UX/UI teams to ensure a world-class user experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical depth, architectural mindset, and excellent communication skills. You will report directly to the Head of Engineering of the platform.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of shared frontend libraries (technical and UI).
- Define standards for code quality, versioning, Git workflows, release management, and documentation.
- Drive the evolution of the Ingenico Micro-Frontend Framework to ensure modularity, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Oversee the setup and governance of Storybook (or equivalent) as a central source of truth for UI components.
- Ensure best practices in software engineering, CI/CD, testing strategy, and performance optimization.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Provide technical leadership to a team of ~5 frontend engineers.
- Act as coach/mentor: support skill growth, run code reviews, set best practices, and promote engineering excellence.
- Potentially serve as Chapter Lead for all frontend developers within the platform.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
Design Collaboration & UX Excellence
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate design systems and mockups into scalable, maintainable components.
- Bring strong UI craftsmanship and CSS expertise (animations, accessibility, responsiveness, performance).
- Challenge design proposals when needed to improve feasibility, velocity, or user experience.
- Ensure consistency across all frontend products through shared systems, guidelines, and tooling.
Requirements
Technical Expertise
- Expert-level proficiency in React and modern frontend architectures.
- (Experience with Angular or Vue.js is a strong plus.)
- Strong CSS, UI craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of design-to-code workflows.
- Solid experience with shared library management, semantic versioning, monorepos, and publishing pipelines.
- Proficiency in Git/GitLab, Git workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of micro-frontend architectures (implementation experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with Storybook or equivalent component documentation tools.
Leadership & Communication
- Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring frontend teams.
- Ability to influence technical direction across multiple squads or domains.
- Excellent communication skills, especially for explaining architectural decisions, aligning stakeholders, and managing breaking changes.
- Strong sense of ownership, rigor, and accountability.
Nice to Have
- Experience building or maintaining micro-frontend frameworks.
- Exposure to UI/UX design principles or design systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms or large-scale product ecosystems.
