About the Position

At ING, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Frontend Software Engineer to join our team in Madrid, Spain.

Responsibilities

As an experienced Software Engineer Frontend, your aim will be:

  • To design, develop and test the code that will shape the different components of our applications, ensuring functionality, quality, and performance.
  • To deliver working software in Production using the best technologies and development practices, including documentation and parameters to achieve this goal.
  • To support Production by analyzing and fixing any bugs that occur.
  • To contribute to improving technical discipline by collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.

Requirements

Essential

  • Solid knowledge of JavaScript and extensive experience developing Frontend applications with JavaScript (ES5/ES6), HTML, and CSS (latest versions).
  • Extensive experience with Frontend frameworks and development of web components using one or more of these frameworks: Angular 8+, ReactJS, Polymer, or Lit-HTML/Lit-Element.
  • Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) and test automation.
  • Knowledge of JSON, REST, and web services.
  • Experience with web testing tools (Karma, Chai, Sinon, Jasmine).
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration tools like GIT, Jenkins, Yarn, NPM, and Bower, and the ability to configure them.
  • Experience with Rollup, Webpack, and Node-based CLIs.
  • Deep understanding of Frontend design patterns and architecture.
  • Familiarity with micro-frontend strategies.
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum or as a Scrum Master.
  • Knowledge of backend and DevOps concepts (global architecture/infrastructure).
  • Experience with Maven, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Ansible, Git, DDD, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Agile team experience with SCRUM, Kanban, or XP.

Desirable

  • Experience with Java, including the Spring framework.
