About the Position

Frontend Engineer Lead (Taipei)

We're seeking a Lead Front-End Engineer with experience in Fintech or marketplaces to shape the direction of our front-end practice in Taipei. You will be at the forefront of our mission to bring better finance solutions to millions of businesses in the United States. You will not only be building user experiences yourself but also mentoring, guiding, and scaling a team of engineers to deliver on an ambitious roadmap of innovative banking and SaaS products.

***Note: You must be based out of Taipei for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill all expectations of the non-lead role.
  • Own and design database schemas and APIs for large-scale features or for a specific product/domain they lead.
  • Closely collaborate with Product Managers and Product Designers to understand the business goal, and come up with BE designs that achieve the goal efficiently.
  • Define, document, and communicate coding standards and architectural guidelines to maintain long-term code quality and system consistency.
  • Mentor and coach team members to help them understand and apply engineering standards, best practices, and design principles.
  • Actively identify technical risks and drive decisions to unblock the team.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English
  • Able to have flexible working hours to collaborate with our NY office
  • Deep understanding of Fintech, specifically banking payments
  • Deep experience with and understanding of:
    • JavaScript (5+ years)
    • Node.js (5+ years)
    • React or Vue.js framework (4+ years)
    • APIs (5+ years)
    • Building fintech web applications (1+ years)
    • Front-end architecture (2+ years)
    • UX (2+ years)
    • UI (2+ years)
  • The ability to see challenges as opportunities to level up. High-achieving and goal-oriented. A self-starter, you are always able to understand the bigger picture, and take a leading role to impact it.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders. Highly collaborative and transparent in your work, output, and decision making.
