About the Position

NorthStar Systems - Full Stack Developer

NorthStar Systems builds software that handles and structures large volumes of data for law enforcement and national security organisations worldwide. These are not typical web applications - they are complex, data-driven platforms where reliability, performance, and traceability are non-negotiable.

We're looking for a developer who is comfortable across the stack but naturally leans toward the backend. You'll join a small, experienced team in Aarhus where ownership is the norm, responsibilities are shared, and problems are yours to solve from idea to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Ingesting, processing, and exposing data through APIs across a distributed, streaming architecture.
• Services containerized and deployed via Docker and Kubernetes.
• Observability handled through Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.

Requirements

• Solid backend background, ideally in Java or a comparable ecosystem.
• Experience in systems more complex than standard applications.
• Familiarity with the following technologies:
  • Java, Spring Boot
  • Kafka (data streaming)
  • MongoDB
  • Docker, Kubernetes
  • Prometheus, Grafana, ELK (observability)

Nice to Have

• Experience with frontend work to carry features across the finish line.
• Direct interaction with international technical partners.
