Introduction

Our partner is a Canadian product company with over a decade of history. They have created a set of utilities for Windows, used by people around the world: a driver updater, registry optimizer, privacy and disk tools.

The product is mature and stable-the team works on maintaining and developing the existing codebase, ensuring compatibility with current OS versions.

Technology Stack

Backend: NodeJS, ExpressJS, SocketIO, RabbitMQ, TypeScript

Frontend: Angular.js, ReactJS

Databases: MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, RedisDB, TypeORM, Mongoose, Sequelize

Infrastructure: Docker, Serverless Framework, CI, AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, Cloud Formation, ECS/ECR, ElasticCache, ELB, Code Suite), AWS CDK

Operating Systems: Windows, Debian, CentOS, Amazon Linux

Responsibilities

• Support and development of a scalable ecosystem of backend services, admin portals, APIs, websites, and automation tools.

• Support and modernization of existing systems based on both legacy and modern technology stacks.

• Investigation of production issues, resolution of complex infrastructure failures, and root cause analysis.

• Work with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines in AWS.

• Analysis, stabilization, and gradual improvement of systems with limited or outdated documentation.

• Participation in knowledge recovery, documentation, and technical debt reduction initiatives.

• Close collaboration with existing technical stakeholders during onboarding and system handovers.

About You

• You have 4+ years of commercial experience in software development.

• You have strong experience in developing with Node.js.

• You are proficient in TypeScript.

• You have experience with REST API and distributed systems.

• You have a high level of SQL and experience with relational databases.

• You have experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.

• You have experience in diagnosing production systems and legacy applications.

• You understand software architecture, design patterns, security principles, and system integrations.

• You can work independently with incomplete documentation.

• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Your English level is Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice to Have

• Experience with supporting legacy systems.

• Familiarity with AngularJS (v1).

• Experience with infrastructure migration and modernization projects.

• Experience in white-label or multi-brand SaaS environments.

• DevOps mindset and inclination towards operational responsibility.
