Introduction

Our partner is a Canadian product company with over a decade of history. They have created a set of utilities for Windows, used by people around the world: a driver updater, registry optimizer, privacy protection tools, and disk management tools.

The product is mature and stable-the team works on maintaining and developing the existing codebase, ensuring compatibility with current OS versions.

Technology Stack

Backend: NodeJS, ExpressJS, SocketIO, RabbitMQ, TypeScript

Frontend: Angular.js, ReactJS

Databases: MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, RedisDB, TypeORM, Mongoose, Sequelize

Infrastructure: Docker, Serverless Framework, CI, AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, Cloud Formation, ECS/ECR, ElasticCache, ELB, Code Suite), AWS CDK

Operating Systems: Windows, Debian, CentOS, Amazon Linux

Responsibilities

Support and development of a scalable ecosystem of backend services, admin portals, APIs, websites, and automation tools.
Support and modernization of existing systems based on both legacy and modern technology stacks.
Investigation of production issues, resolution of complex infrastructure failures, and root cause analysis.
Work with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines in AWS.
Analysis, stabilization, and gradual improvement of systems with limited or outdated documentation.
Participation in knowledge recovery, documentation, and technical debt reduction initiatives.
Close collaboration with existing technical stakeholders during onboarding and system handovers.

About You

You have 4+ years of commercial experience in software development.
You have strong experience in developing with Node.js.
You are proficient in TypeScript.
You have experience with REST API and distributed systems.
You have a high level of SQL and experience with relational databases.
You have experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.
You have experience in diagnosing production systems and legacy applications.
You understand software architecture, design patterns, security principles, and system integrations.
You can work independently with incomplete documentation.
You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Your English level is Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice to Have

Experience with supporting legacy systems.
Familiarity with AngularJS (v1).
Experience with infrastructure migration and modernization projects.
Experience working in white-label or multi-brand SaaS environments.
DevOps mindset and inclination towards operational responsibility.
