About the Position

Full-Stack Engineer

We are seeking a talented Full-Stack Engineer with expertise in Java and React/TypeScript to join our team in Warsaw, Poland. As part of our Automate team, you will play a crucial role in developing our workflow automation platform, enabling millions of users to automate complex business processes without writing code.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement full-stack features for the Box Automate platform, writing clean, maintainable code in Java (backend) and React/TypeScript (frontend)
  • Develop and optimize backend services that power workflow automation, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability across distributed systems
  • Build responsive, intuitive user interfaces in React that enable users to create, configure, and monitor automated workflows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and infrastructure to define requirements, propose technical solutions, and deliver features on schedule
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to engineering best practices and architectural decisions
  • Participate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise
  • Attend and engage in weekly stand-ups, team meetings, and manager 1:1s to ensure alignment and continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated expertise in full-stack development
  • Strong proficiency in Java and React/TypeScript; deep understanding of object-oriented design principles, REST APIs, and modern web development patterns
  • Experience building scalable backend systems, including database design, caching strategies, and asynchronous processing
  • Proven ability to assess, communicate, and complete project milestones with manager and team members in a time-sensitive manner
  • Fluent English proficiency (written and verbal)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with workflow automation, business process management, or integration platforms
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DevOps practices
  • Track record of leading cross-functional projects or mentoring junior engineers
  • Experience with enterprise integrations and API design
  • Contributions to open-source projects or demonstrated passion for software craftsmanship
