Our client, an international leader in payment systems, online, mobile, and retail solutions, is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (Android) for their Ukrainian office.

Job Description:

Development of software for Android payment devices for the electronic payment industry using Java/Kotlin on a proprietary Android-based platform.

Responsibilities

• Development/design of SW solutions/evolutions
• Participation in defining/evaluating technical requirements
• Development of SW according to technical requirements
• Re-engineering/evolution of Legacy SW
• Bug fixing/debugging according to problem reports and technical requirements
• Interact with other teams (support, project managers, quality control, delivery)
• Stay updated with modern methodologies, tools, and IT trends
• Regularly report progress through daily, weekly, and monthly time/task reports
• Be a team player, proactive, and highly motivated

Requirements

• Kotlin
• Java
• Good understanding of common software design patterns and Android design patterns
• Knowledge of Android API features across different versions
• Understanding of Android framework components and their lifecycles
• Experience with GIT version control system
• Ability to decompose complex tasks, develop solutions, and implement them
• Languages: English (written and spoken)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kotlin coroutines
• Reactive programming experience
• Experience with the process of publishing and distributing Android applications
• Experience with payment technologies (payment processing, EMV, etc.)
• Advanced experience with the Gradle build system (Gradle plugins, multi-module/composite builds, etc.)
