About the Position

Functional Architect (ISG)

We are seeking a Functional Architect with expertise in API and integration architecture to join our team in Chennai, India, for a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Design and document functional architectures for applications that consume and expose SOAP webservices and REST API interfaces within complex enterprises.
• Apply deep hands-on exposure to REST API concepts including resource modeling, authentication, pagination, error handling, and idempotency to ensure resilient integrations.
• Leverage practical understanding of finance and accounting concepts such as general ledger, invoicing, and reconciliation to shape solutions that meet domain expectations even when requirements are ambiguous.
• Demonstrate strong ability to work effectively in hybrid teams across locations using collaborative tools to maintain continuous alignment on functional scope and design decisions.
• Utilize excellent communication and facilitation skills to bridge perspectives between business stakeholders and technical specialists ensuring shared understanding of service-enabled solutions.
• Exhibit proven experience of at least ten years in enterprise-scale functional analysis or solution architecture with recent focus on webservices and API-driven transformations.
• Show familiarity with industry standards for integration patterns and message structures which supports consistent and interoperable designs across finance and accounting platforms.

Requirements

• Certification in web services or API design such as a REST API design certification or equivalent industry-recognized credential.
• Extensive experience in designing and documenting functional architectures for applications that consume and expose SOAP webservices and REST API interfaces within complex enterprises.
• Deep hands-on exposure to REST API concepts including resource modeling, authentication, pagination, error handling, and idempotency.
• Practical understanding of finance and accounting concepts such as general ledger, invoicing, and reconciliation.
• Strong ability to work effectively in hybrid teams across locations.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
