Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We are seeking a Functional Owner for our Telematics domain to lead and coordinate all efforts within the corresponding domain. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience in embedded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, controlling, and monitoring of all tasks related to the assigned domain and tracking of related work product integration (SW modules) into the overall project
  • Leading technically the team members assigned to a domain
  • Analysis and clarification of requirements, interfaces, architecture, timeline, etc. related to the assigned domain with the customer, impacted Harman domains, and suppliers on a technical level (e.g., workshops, regular communication meetings)
  • Support of the project leads in regards to evaluation of requirements and change requests
  • Status reporting towards SW project lead and management
  • Problem/issue ticket management related to the assigned domain
  • Support for proof-of-concept activities if needed
  • Ensuring compliance to Harman internal and SW engineering processes required by the customer (e.g., Automotive SPICE) and methods (e.g., SAFe)

Requirements

  • University degree (MSc/BSc)
  • Track record with a minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded systems, preferably in automotive
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience in SW development (OOA, OOD, OOP)
  • Very good knowledge in automotive System-/SW Engineering
  • Analytical skills and good system understanding in the embedded SW area
  • Experience in technical coordination of engineering teams
  • Excellent communication and technical presentation skills
  • Experience in working with (external) customers/OEMs
  • Self-driven, autonomous, and systematic way of working and able to help others achieve this
  • Good English language skills

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Infotainment/Telematics systems and experience in working inside Automotive projects
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good understanding and working skills in C/C++, Linux, SW architecture (UML), MS Office tools, JIRA, Confluence, ALM, DOORS
  • Knowledge of SW development processes (e.g., V-Model, ASPICE, etc.)
  • Knowledge of agile methods and frameworks (SAFe) is an advantage
