Tech Stack
Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements
About the Position
Founded in 2012, FextraLife was created by just 2 hardcore Dark Souls players eager to help others complete the game. Our objective hasn't changed. We’re building the ultimate library of gaming knowledge - FOR gamers, BY gamers. Driven by passion, innovation, and the sheer love of gaming, we’ve created over 200 wikis covering the top Soulslikes and RPGs.
We're always on the lookout for passionate gamers. Whether you're a backend wizard or simply want to help create helpful gaming content, if you're passionate about games and think you can contribute to our mission - we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Human-First Content Generation: Write authentic, nuance-rich walkthroughs, boss guides, and character builds for top RPGs that AI could never replicate on its own.
- Leverage Tech for Speed: Use prompt engineering and AI assistants to handle structural heavy lifting, data categorization, and repetitive formatting tasks.
- Data Auditing & Fact-Checking: Defend the wiki against inaccuracies. You will verify every stat, drop rate, and quest trigger to ensure our community gets 100% accurate data.
- Collaborate in Montreal: Work alongside a tight-knit, collaborative team in our Montreal office to coordinate wiki coverage for massive game launch days.
Requirements
- The RPG Enthusiast: You live for deep progression systems. You have hundreds of hours in top-tier RPGs (like Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk 2077, Path of Exile, or massive JRPGs). You understand what min-maxing means and love breaking down game mechanics.
- Tech-Savvy New Grad: You recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Game Design, English, Data Science, or a related field, and you’re looking to merge your technical skills with your passion for gaming.
- AI Literate (As a Tool): You know how to use LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) to brainstorm, organize, or clean up text, but you know exactly where AI falls short and why a human touch is required.
Nice to Have
- Engine & Dev Knowledge: Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, or Godot (understanding how games are put together is a massive plus for dissecting game files and logic!).
- Experience with Markdown, HTML/CSS, GitHub, or basic Python.
- A history of contributing to community wikis (Fandom, wikidot, etc.), writing Steam guides, or moderating gaming subreddits/Discords.
We Offer
- A Hub for Gamers: Work in Montreal's world-class gaming ecosystem with a team that respects high-level play.
- Future-Proof Skills: Learn how to direct AI professionally, a skill highly sought after in the evolving tech and media landscapes.
- No Content Farming: Work on projects you are proud of, creating high-quality resources that genuinely help the gaming community.
