Responsibilities

• Validate, calculate, and report lab results to strict quality and ethical standards.
• Perform various data processing functions, including laboratory data calculations, quality control checks, LIMS entries, and other data management functions.
• Ensure lab deadlines are met and notify the GBS Team Coordinator or Lab Manager if turnaround time cannot be met.
• Ensure all testing methodologies and quality control procedures are performed according to ISO17025 and assigned SGS lab standards.
• Keep Affiliate Manager, GBS Supervisor, and other key personnel informed of operational issues.
• Adopt and support specific operational improvement activities.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all required analytical procedures.
• Look for efficiency gains by being aware of new technologies and reviewing existing procedures.
• Respond to technical queries.
• Ensure the work area in GBS is kept clean and presentable.
• Remain familiar with SGS quality assurance procedures.
• Comply with all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Educational Background: Minimum Bachelor of Science degree (Chemistry preferred) or other science-related courses.
• Experience: A minimum of one year of lab experience, including a minimum of 6 months of HPLC, GC, and/or GC-MS operating experience paired with a formal training course.
• Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (B2 or C1 level).
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Analytical instrumentation knowledge, particularly chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Prior experience with LIMS and Chemstation or Mass Hunter software is a plus.
  • Experience with Data Review of lab results.
  • Demonstrated commitment to data quality and operational excellence.
