One Way Aerospace is seeking a GIS Engineer to support our global expansion efforts by leveraging geospatial data analysis and visualization.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Pre-commercial Opportunities: Use GIS layers and geographic data sets to inform One Way Aerospace and potential customers about deployment opportunities in specific geographies.
• Placement of Deployment Sites: Identify optimal locations for new centers considering various internal and external needs and constraints.
• GIS Data Processing: Transform data layers for early-stage analysis into inputs for new deployments and site setup processes.
• Visual Representations: Create compelling maps and visuals to clearly convey potential deployments to internal and external audiences.
• Data Source of Truth: Maintain, curate, and source the data used for business-critical decisions at One Way Aerospace.
• Build Geospatial Tools: Develop web-based tools and formats to expedite analysis for teams at One Way Aerospace.
• Maintain a Geospatial Platform: Integrate all geospatial data into a unified system at One Way Aerospace.

Requirements

• Strong GIS Software Skills: Proficiency in ESRI (ArcGIS) or QGIS.
• Relational Database: Experience with Postgres/PostGIS.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python.
• 3D Coordinate System Transformations: Ability to perform transformations.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills.
• Cartographic Skills: Strong cartographic skills and visual design instincts.
• Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with internal team members to understand needs, surface roadblocks, and identify creative solutions.

Nice to Have

• Software Experience: Experience with GDAL/Shapely/Pandas/Geopandas/Numpy; ARC extensions (Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Spatial Statistics); AWS; git.
• Additional Skills: Strong cartographic skills and visual design instincts.
