About the Position
Global Manufacturing Facilities & Sustainability Director
Join HARMAN Automotive as a Global Manufacturing Facilities & Sustainability Director to lead sustainability initiatives and drive best practices in manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Drive manufacturing facilities Standards and Best Practices globally.
- Formulate and execute the global sustainability strategy and roadmap in Manufacturing.
- Identify specific drivers and KPIs for Manufacturing Sustainability and manufacturing facilities management including energy management, alternative sources, water conservation, zero waste to landfill, etc.
- Collaborate with global facilities to drive synergies and cost savings in areas such as cleaning, maintenance, security, cafeteria services, etc.
- Work with our insurance partner to reduce our risk rating through proactive engagement and driving execution of identified improvements.
- Collaborate with leaders in Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Development, Procurement, and Supply Chain to identify and reduce environmental impact in the product lifecycle.
- Drive best in class programs which position HARMAN Manufacturing Sustainability in the forefront of global surveys and audits, while contributing to cost and quality optimization.
- Engage with OEM customers on Manufacturing Sustainability requirements, future needs and goals to be addressed with new manufacturing and supply chain approaches.
- Establish external partnerships with organizations that maximize the ROI of HARMAN Manufacturing sustainability strategy, leading to positive recognition for the company.
- Support the Supply Chain and Procurement teams in identifying strategic suppliers and vendors with the most innovative and robust sustainable solutions.
- Build working relationships with regulatory/public officials in the manufacturing facilities areas to ensure HARMAN is aware of country, federal, state, regional or local sustainability programs.
- Partner with Corporate Communications to develop content and material regarding HARMAN’s Manufacturing Sustainability best practices.
- Participate in Sustainability conferences to contribute to the public recognition of HARMAN’s efforts towards Sustainability.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering/Environmental Engineering or similar education.
- Manufacturing facilities management experience with 8+ years experience.
- Proven effective communicator with customers and managing projects to achieve desired results.
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization and hold global teams accountable to deliverables.
- Deep passion for driving change and delivering results in Sustainability and facilities management.
- Ability to lead facilities and environmental technical discussions with experts up to VP level, and has executive management level communication experience.
- Preferred LEED Accredited Professional or LEED Project Experience.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations and manage change effectively.
- Team player with change orientation and high self-awareness.
- Excellent communication skills (presenting, speaking, writing).
- Experience in different disciplines or industries is valuable.
- Fluency in English is a must.
